20 year old Ragala Venkat Rahul bags fourth gold for India
With P Gururaja (56 kg), Mirabai Chanu (48kg), Sathish Kumar (77kg), Sanjita Chanu (53kg), Deepak Lather (69 kg) already making the country proud with their medals, Rangala Venkat Rahul (85kg) too wore a medal around his neck and made India proud!
Venkat lifted a total of 338 Kg to bag the fourth gold for India in weightlifting on Saturday.
Rahul had qualified for the 2018 CWG by winning gold at the 2017 Commonwealth Senior Weightlifting Championships which also took place in Gold Coast Australia.
He had lifted a total of 351kg (156kg in snatch and 195kg in clean & jerk) at the event, winning a total of two gold medals in junior and senior categories.
The 20-year-old Rahul hails from Guntur and his younger sibling Varun is also one of the participants at the Gold Coast Games.
