2012 Delhi Nirbhaya case: Supreme Court on Wednesday dismissed the review petition of convict Akshay Kumar Singh. The newly constituted three-judge bench of the Supreme Court, headed by Justice R Banumathi and also comprising Justices Ashok Bhushan and AS Bopanna started hearing the review petition of Akshay Kumar Singh. Dr AP Singh, lawyer representing convict Akshay Kumar Singh, submitted to Supreme Court that he now has new facts in the case. He said that "The conviction was made against his client under media pressure, public pressure and political pressure etc and it is still there." Meanwhile, Dr AP Singh, raised question on the star witness, Amarinder Pandey, and said, "his evidence and submissions in the case is unreliable." AP Singh also said that "this case is a case, where Akshay is an innocent and poor man." Lawyer arguing for convict Akshay Kumar Singh, said that "On the first dying declaration, she (2012 Delhi gang rape victim) couldn't name anyone as the accused, who had committed the offence.
