2015 Guru Granth Sahib theft case: Punjab Police files fresh charge sheet against Gurmeet Ram Rahim, 9 others

Mohali, January 27: The Punjab Police has filed a fresh charge sheet against Dera Sacha Sauda, Sirsa, chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim and nine others in Guru Granth Sahib theft case registered at the Bajakhana police station in Faridkot district in 2015. Earlier, the Punjab Police had registered a criminal case against three Dera Sacha Sauda followers at the Bajakhana police station, Faridkot, last year. Harish Dhuri, Pardeep Kaler and Sandeep Bareta, all central committee members of Dera Sacha Sauda, Sirsa, were booked under Section 174-A on the directions of a judicial court. As per the investigation by the Special Investigation Team, the accused along with Dera Sacha Sauda head Gurmeet Ram Rahim were allegedly part of conspiracy in the theft of the ‘bir’, which led to Behbal Kalan and Kotkapura police firing incidents. Following the investigation, the chargesheet has been filed against Dera Sacha Sauda Sirsa chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim and nine others. Currently, Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh is in jail in two rape and murder cases. He is lodged at a Rohtak jail.
