2022 Commonwealth Games : Birmingham officially confirmed as host city
2022 Commonwealth Games : After the South African city of Durban expressed its inability to host the 2022 Commonwealth Games citing financial reasons, the Commonwealth Games Federation on Thursday chose Birmingham in England as the new venue.
Now the multi-sports mega event that features member nations of erstwhile British empire will return to Great Britain after a gap of eight years. The central English city of Birmingham will host the 2022 Commonwealth Games.
Before Glasgow (2014), Manchester played host to the 2002 Commonwealth Games.
The next edition of the Games will be hosted by Gold Coast, Australia, in April next year.
