22 killed, 33 injured in stampede on foot overbridge in Mumbai

At least 22 people have died and 30 have been seriously injured in a stampede at the foot over bridge at Mumbai’s Elphinstone Road station on Friday. The incident occurred during peak hours following rains at the station. The tragedy took place amid rain in the city around 10.40 am when the FOB was heavily crowded, a police official said. Five National Disaster Response Force personnel reached the spot. People started pushing and those in the middle of the stairs fell.
