23-year-old girl’s face slashed with blade in Delhi
A 23-year-old girl was attacked with a blade while she was on her way home on Sunday. The incident took place in Mangolpuri area in Delhi at around 8:30 pm.

According to media reports, the girl was returning home from a shop. A man walked towards her with a blade. He slashed her face with the blade. She cried for help after she was attacked. A huge crowd was drawn to the spot. The attacker took advantage of the crowd and escaped from the scene. The woman was rushed to a nearby hospital. She received multiple cuts to her cheek and chin. The doctors told the media that her cuts were deep that needed to be stitched. Her condition was stated to be out of danger.

The woman filed a complained in which she told the police that she suspects a man who had been stalking her for the last 11 years. She had been stalked and harassed by a 27-year-old man since 2008.
Back in 2008, when the victim was in school, a man held her hand and harassed her. He was again seen last year while she was on her way to her tuition centre. He proposed her for marriage, but she turned her down.

During the preliminary investigation, police learnt from different sources that in 2002, he had murdered his brother-in-law in the case of “honour killing.” He was arrested for that murder, but he was released on bail last year.

The woman gives private tuitions. She is also pursuing her post graduation through distant learning from Delhi University.
