26 killed in suicide attack in Afghanistan

At least 26 people were killed and 42 wounded during a suicide attack at Parwan near the campaign rally of President Ashraf Ghani in northern Aghanistan on Tuesday. As per reports, M Ghani was inside the fortified compound at least a half-mile from the spot where the blast took place. The incident took place near a police training center. The suicide bomber was on a motorcycle, which detonated the bomb at around 11:40 am while people were lining up to undergo security check at the entry gate to the compound. https://twitter.com/ANI/status/1173921718798180352 Earlier, the President arrived by a helicopter. Ghani had been campaigning by the video conference ahead of the Presidential elections, which is to be held on September 28. He made a short trip to nearby Parwan for a rally. Meanwhile, the Taliban group has claimed responsibility of the Parwan attack and for facilitating the separate bombing outside the Ministry of Defense in Kabul. -PTC News
