4 burnt alive as car catches fire after colliding with truck near Karnal: Four members of a Delhi-based family were burnt alive after being trapped in the car that collided with a truck near Shamgarh village in the wee hours of Tuesday. The deceased have not been identified yet. However, the police found some clues indicating that the deceased belonged to Delhi. The completely charred bodies of a man, his wife and his mother-in-law have been kept in the mortuary of Kalpana Chawla Government Medical College. The accident took place at around 4 am as per the eyewitnesses, when the car coming from Amritsar jumped the divider of national highway-44 and crashed into a truck coming from the Karnal side. The police received the information about the accident, following which a fire tender was called to douse the fire, but it was too late to prevent the car from being burnt completely and taking lives of the family members. -PTC News
