40 serials on television go off air from today: FWICE employees on strike

FWICE employees strike: If a TV serial is your favorite and your dinner is teamed up with it every night, then this news is probably the worst of the lot for you! The staff of the Federation of Western India Cine Implement will go on strike today onward! The result will be that the shooting of 40 serials and 10 films of Hindi and Marathi will be on hold. The demand of these employees is to increase their salaries and their shift to eight hours. Due to the strike, film city of Mumbai, Filmsteen, Future Studios, Click Nixon etc. will not function. It is being said that production houses do not have content of serials shot in Advance. Therefore, the serials are scheduled to stop broadcasting. As long as the producers do not solve the problem of workers, the strike will continue. The employees were already on a strike in 2015, but their problem has not been resolved. They demand that they should be medically insured and be provided with a job security. Federation President Birendranath Tiwari said that the promise made to us has not yet been implemented. Our demand for two years is incomplete. Even during the earlier strike, the episodes were not telecasted for a week. Producing houses broadcasted old episodes without ads. It is now to see how many days the audience will have to stay away from their favorite show. —PTC News
