A fifty-two-year-old sadhu allegedly committed suicide on Friday in Muzaffarnagar district in Uttar Pradesh. He hanged himself from the ceiling fan at his residence.
According to the police, the incident took place in Dhandeda village. It comes under the jurisdiction of Kakroli police station. The deceased has been identified as Prakashanand Giri. His body was found hanging from the ceiling of a room in his house. The police had to break open the door of his room as it was bolted from inside.
Police sent the body for a post-mortem examination to a civil hospital. During the preliminary investigation, the police did not find any suicide note. The reason behind Sadhu’s extreme step was not yet known.
