The Indian Medical Association (IMA), in its latest data, stated that a total of 646 doctors died due to COVID-19 in the ongoing second wave of coronavirus in India, with Delhi reporting the highest number of 100 fatalities.
Bihar recorded 97 deaths followed by Uttar Pradesh which reported 79 fatalities and Rajasthan added 43 deaths, the Indian Medical Association stated while sharing the data of doctors who died in the second wave of coronavirus in India.

Meanwhile, the states like Maharashtra reported 23 deaths of doctors while Karnataka reported nine deaths.

Earlier, the IMA had stated that 748 doctors had died in the first wave of the coronavirus pandemic.
In a sigh of relief, India's daily new COVD-19 cases witnessed a sharp decline on Saturday as the country recorded 11,835 less cases as compared to Friday.
India on Saturday reported 1.20.329 fresh COVID-19 cases, taking the country's infection tally to 2.86.94,879, according to the latest data shared by the Union Health Ministry.
The active caseload in the country has further declined to 15,55,248 as active cases decreased by 80.745 in the last 24 hours. The active cases in India are less than 2 lakhs for the nine successive days.
