Acid attack on girl who took the fight against Halala to Supreme Court Triple talaq victim who took the fight against halala to the Supreme Court, Shabnam Rani has been attacked with acid in UP's Bulandshahr. It is being alleged that the Shabnam's brother-in-law and his friend were the ones who attacked her. She was married off to Bulandshahr where she accused her husband of giving her triple talaq and forcing her to perform halala with her brother-in-law. When Shabnam was visiting her in-laws in Bulandshahr, two men threw acid on her. She was immediately rushed to a hospital. Under nikah halala, a man cannot remarry his former wife unless she marries another man, consummates the marriage, gets a divorce and observes a period of separation period called 'iddat'. -PTC News-
