Afghan attack: SAD, SGPC stage protest outside Afghanistan embassy in Delhi
Shiromani Akali Dal, Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC), Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC) and the Afghan Sangat stage protest against killings of innocent Sikh leaders in Delhi.
The protest was held outside outside Afghanistan embassy, Chanakyapuri.
The SGPC has also announced Rs 1 lakh to the family of each of the Sikhs killed during the terror attack in Afghanistan on Sunday. They will also take the financial responsibility of the education of their kids, the committee said.
SGPC president Gobind Singh Longowal said, Rs 50,000 will also be given to the injured for treatment. “It would be better if the injured persons are brought to India for treatment. It would give them relief,” he added.
Condemning the killing of Sikhs and others in Afghanistan, the SGPC had closed its offices on Monday and said that the Afghanistan government had failed to provide security to minority communities.
Meanwhile, SAD President Sukhbir Singh Badal said, “This is no time for playing politics, and the SAD will not fall to the temptation to take advantage of the government’s failure to live up to its promise to tackle the drug menace in four weeks.”
