Punjab Latest News: Heavy rains accompanied by lightning struck parts of Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh on Monday. While people were out for shopping on the occasion of Lohri, the inclement weather forced them to head for cover. The rain not only resulted in traffic jams and dip in mercury level, it also left the trees damaged.
As per the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), light to moderate rain/thundershowers are likely at isolated places on Tuesday and Wednesday and at many places thereafter in the state of Punjab and Haryana.

Meanwhile, IMD has issued a warning that “Thunderstorm along with hail and lightening are likely at isolated places on Monday and again on January 16 in Punjab and Haryana. Similarly, heavy rain is likely at places in Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh. Also, IMD predicted fog intensification. It said, “Dense fog likely at isolated places on January 14 in Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh.
