Agniveer Airforce recruitment exam begins amid tight security

Kanpur (Uttar Pradesh), July 24: The first-ever examination for recruitment in the Indian Air Force under the new 'Agnipath' scheme started on Sunday morning across the country, amid tight police security.


This exam is being held in several parts of the country including Delhi, Kanpur and Patna. The exam will be conducted from July 24 to July 31. In several parts of UP, the examination is being held for the recruitment of Agniveers in the Air Force. Police have made tight security arrangements to conduct the Agniveer Airforce examination in Kanpur. In addition to police officers, Air Force troops have been stationed at all test centres.

All the examination centres are also being monitored by CCTV and drones. The Agniveer exam will be held at 11 different locations, six of them are in Kanpur Outer. The exam is administered in three shifts.

Today, 31,875 candidates are taking the exam in Kanpur, with 625 students attending every shift.

An Air Force aspirant said, "I have come here from Meerut to give Agniveer Airforce exam. We are very happy that after so much interruption we are able to give the exam. We have prepared for our exam and we will give our best." Earlier, the Indian Air force revealed that it has received a total of 7,49,899 applications under the Agniveer recruitment scheme. On June 14, the Union Cabinet approved Agnipath, a recruitment scheme for Indian youth to serve in the three Armed Forces services, and the youth recruited under this scheme will be known as Agniveers.

The Agnipath initiative enables patriotic and motivated young people to serve in the Armed Forces for four years. The Agnipath Scheme was created to help the Armed Forces retain a youthful profile.
