Parents of ailing Sikh man Amarinder Singh in France get visas

New Delhi: Parents of an ailing sikh man Amarinder Singh, who is admitted in a France hospital have got visas to visit him after the Delhi Sikh Gurudwara General Secretary Mr. Manjinder Singh Sirsa had taken up the issue with External Affairs Minister Mrs. Sushma Swaraj as well as French Embassy for getting visa for the parents. After a video of the family seeking help surfaced in social media, Mr. Sirsa personally contacted the family and assured them all help in getting visas. After that Mr. Sirsa took up the matter with External Affairs Minister Mrs. Swaraj and informed her that a youth named Mr. Amrinder Singh resident of village Simbal Majra, Tehsil Kharar, SAS Nagar, Punjab who has been on work visa in France is stranded in a hospital in France. New Delhi: Parents of an ailing sikh man Amarinder Singh, who is admitted in a France hospitalAs per statement of the parents, their son Amrinder singh was detected with blood infection recently and his feet and hands had to be amputated on medical grounds. He said that S. Avtar Singh Father and Mrs. Amarjit Kaur Mother have requested to grant them visa to France to see their ailing son. The parents were feeling helpless as their financial position is not good to visit France at their own. Seeking her interference in the matter, Mr. Sirsa said that a visa could be arranged for both the parents for visiting their ailing son. After his representation Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) got in touch with the France Embassy who took swift action and allowed the parents to apply for a visa as a special case and called them today 28 july at French Embassy Delhi and visas were issued to both the parents to visit their ailing son in France. Thanking Mr. Sirsa for all the help, both parents were feeling relaxed that now they will able to see their ailing son who is suffering from serious disease. Meanwhile, Mr. Manjinder Singh Sirsa has thanked Mrs. Sushma Swaraj for taking swift action in the matter and helping the family after he brought the matter to her notice. He said that action in the case has one again reaffirmed faith of the people in democratic functioning of the government particularly the MEA. —PTC News
