Air Canada Pilots Are Finally Allowed To Fly With Beard

Air Canada Pilots Are Finally Allowed To Fly With Beard Air Canada has finally allowed the pilots to fly who have a beard. Air Canada changed its policy on facial hair for aircrew. They have allowed with a slight condition. They allowed neatly trimmed beards with a maximum length of 1.25 cm. Earlier there was a myth that revolved around Air Canada flights that the respirators need a hair-free skin for a proper seal of an oxygen supply mask. But that myth has been debunked by the research conducted by the British Columbia, Simon Fraser Valley University. The University received an application from an experienced pilot who was a beard Sikh. He told them that his career is impacted largely by the restriction imposed by the AIR Canada agency, because of his beard. This research gave 100 percent results, irrespective of the length of the beard. After this research, the Canadian Armed Forces and a smaller carrier, North Cariboo Air, have also requested the data of the research conducted by Ferguson. They are also considering changing their own policy. -PTC NEWS
