Alabama mall shooting leaves 1 dead, 2 injured
A shooting at Alabama mall left a gunman dead and two people including a 12-year-old girl injured. The shooting on Thanksgiving night terrified the shoppers and forced them to run for safety.
The incident took place at the Riverchase Galleria in the Birmingham suburb of Hoover. The firing was the result of the fight that started between an 18-year-old and the 21-year-old gunman. A call was made to the police regarding a confrontation that began on the second floor of the mall. Police told the sources that it could not believe at that point the 18-year-old was armed.
The gunman opened fire shooting the 18-year-old thrice in the torso. Following the shooting, the security officer of the mall confronted the gun as ran away from the scene. The security officer fatally shot him.
A 12-year-old girl was a bystander who was shot once. It wasn’t clear, who shot her. Both the gunman and the 12-year-old girl were rushed to the hospitals. The girl underwent surgery and is now out of danger. The 18-year-old was in serious condition when an ambulance took him to the hospital.
