Amit Shah, Piyush Goyal flag-off Delhi-Katra Vande Bharat Express

Union Home minister Amit Shah, on Thursday, flagged off the Delhi-Katra Vande Bharat Express from New Delhi. The commercial operation will begin on October 5. With this, the distance from Delhi to Katra will be covered in just 8 hours. Union home minister Amit Shah said, “I'm proud that the 'Made in India' train is being flagged-off from here today. The railway is working towards achieving its targets, keeping in mind the principles of speed, scale and service.” https://twitter.com/ANI/status/1179621645045993472 He flagged off the train with Union Railway Minister Piyush Goyal, Union ministers Dr. Jitendra Singh and Dr. Harsh Vardhan. According to Amit Shah, the train signals the beginning of development in Jammu and Kashmir after the abrogation of Article 370. "Before scrapping Article 370, there were many obstacles in Jammu and Kashmir's path to development. In the next 10 years, J&K will be one of the most developed states. The journey of development has begun with Vande Bharat Express." Katra is the last destination for those visiting the Vaishno Devi shrine. The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has launched a ticket booking facility for the Delhi-Katra Vande Bharat Express train via its e-ticketing website, www.irctc.co.in from September 29, 2019, onwards. -PTC News
