Amritsar: Woman among 3 held with 1.5 kg heroin

Punjab Latest News: In a major incident, three persons, including a woman were arrested with 1.5 kg heroin in their possession at a police barricade on Amritsar–Tarn Taran road, on Sunday. The three accused have been identified as  Ranjit Singh, also known as Rana of Daoke village, Harjit Singh aka Happy and his wife Mandeep Kaur of Guru Nanak Colony, Tarn Taran road, in Amritsar.

The police sources have revealed that the three accused were in an Indica car, who were intercepted at a naka on Tarn Taran road by Chatiwind police of Amritsar rural district. Upon checking, the police found 1.520 kg heroin in their car.

Meanwhile, the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP-rural) Vikramjit Singh Duggal said that the investigation is underway. Also, the police have registered a case under Section 25, 54 and 59 of the NDPS Act at Chatiwind police station against the accused.
