High Court refuses to give bail to Naresh Sherawat convict of 1984 Sikh genocide case on Medical ground
Delhi High Court on Monday refused to grant bail to Naresh Sherawat, a convict of 1984 Sikh genocide case, on medical grounds.

In today’s hearing, the High court heard the submissions of the petitioner counsel. According to the petitioner counsel reports, Naresh Sherawat was not able to walk or talk properly.
The court inquired from the prisoner's doctor, Dr Deepak. He informed the court that the petitioner can walk and speak properly and is eating well (regular diet).

On November 20, Delhi High Court awarded death penalty to Yashpal Singh who was convicted in the case. Naresh Sherawat was sent to jail for life for his role in anti-Sikh riots of 1984. The court has also imposed a fine of Rs. 35 lakh.
