Kerala Flood: PM conducts aerial survey, announces additional Rs 500 crore grant

Prime Minister Narendra Modi conducted an aerial survey of flood affected areas, here on Saturday morning. PM Modi announced an ex-gratia of Rs. 2 lakh per person to the next kin of the deceased and Rs.50,000 to those seriously injured, from PM’s National Relief Funds (PMNRF)

Prime Minister Narendra Modi also announced an additional grant of Rs 500 crore to Kerala, after holding a high-level meeting with Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and conducting an aerial survey of the flood-ravaged state.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi was accompanied by Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan, Governor P. Sathasivam and Union Tourism Minister KJ Alphons during aerial survey of flood affected areas

Earlier in the morning, Media reports of PM Narendra Modi’s aerial survey being cancelled came up. PM the chaired a meeting in Kochi with CM Pinarayi Vijayan, Union Minister KJ Alphons and other officials.
