PTC News Desk: Ayodhya turned into a dazzling sea of lights on Sunday evening as Deepotsav 2025 illuminated the sacred city with an astonishing 26,17,215 lamps. Chanting “Jai Shri Ram,” devotees from across India and abroad filled the streets, as temples, ghats, and homes sparkled along the holy Saryu River.

The city set two Guinness World Records — one for lighting the highest number of lamps and another for 2,128 priests and devotees performing Maa Saryu Aarti simultaneously, verified by drones and official certification.

The grand spectacle, organised by the Uttar Pradesh Tourism Department and the Ayodhya District Administration, took place at Ram Ki Paidi, where the massive lamp display and synchronized aarti made history.

A magnificent laser and light show illuminated the riverbank, believed to be the site of Lord Rama’s Nirvana, while the city came alive with vibrant Ram Leela performances and the glow of countless diyas.

A spectacular drone show mesmerized onlookers, followed by a breathtaking fireworks display that lit up the night sky in brilliant hues. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, visibly proud, watched as representatives from Guinness World Records officially confirmed Ayodhya’s twin achievements. Raising his arms in triumph, he accepted the certificates amid thunderous applause from the crowd.
