One killed, several injured in explosion at Verka Milk plant, victims family seeks probe

PTC News Desk: In a tragic incident, a massive explosion was reported in verka milk plant's heater, killing one and injuring several others.
According to the reports, a major steam boiler used for converting milk into powder exploded inside the milk plant, resulting in the death of the plant’s chief engineer, Kunal Jain. Four other employees, including foremen, were injured and admitted to Ludhiana’s DMC Hospital, where their condition remains critical.
The deceaseD, Kunal Jain was employed as an A-grade engineer, had been promoted only a few days earlier. His wife is a contractual employee at the same Verka Milk Plant. According to the family, Kunal received a phone call late at night asking him to come to the plant, after which the accident took place. His friends and relatives have raised questions, alleging that he was called in under pressure. They have demanded an inquiry into who made the call that night.
A committee has been formed to investigate the cause behind the accident and the company has assured full support to the family.
According to the General Manager of Verka Milk Plant, the incident occurred around 11 p.m. The GM also mentioned that Kunal’s wife works at the same plant and assured that the management stands with the family in this difficult time.
