Punjab sprinter Gurindervir Singh breaks national record with 10.09s sprint; qualifies for Commonwealth Games

PTC News Desk: A historic moment was witnessed at Birsa Munda Stadium during the 29th National Senior Athletics Federation Competition, as Punjab sprinter Gurindervir Singh clocked a sensational 10.09 seconds in the men’s 100m final.
With this outstanding performance, Gurindervir set a new national record and also qualified for the upcoming Commonwealth Games. He belongs to Patial village in Bhogpur town, Punjab.
His achievement sparked celebrations across Punjab, with athletes, coaches, and sports fans calling it a major milestone for Indian athletics.
After crossing the finish line, Gurindervir held up a handwritten note that read:
“Task is not finished yet. 10.10 seconds? Wait, I am still standing.”
The message reflected his confidence, determination, and years of hard work and discipline.
Former coach Sarabjit Singh Happy from Jalandhar praised the young sprinter’s dedication and described the achievement as a proud moment for both Punjab and India.
