Punjab government issues guidelines for ‘Unlock 2’

Punjab government on Tuesday issued fresh guidelines for phased reopening (Unlock 2) which will be implemented from July 1 to 31. The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), Government of India on Monday decided to extend the lockdown in Containment Zones up to July 31 and reopen more activities in a calibrated manner in areas outside the Containment Zones.

Meanwhile, the schools, colleges, educational and coaching institutions 'will remain

closed till July 31, 2020. Online/distance learning shall continue to be permitted and shall be encouraged. The training institutions of the Central and State government will be

allowed to function from July 15 for which Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) will be issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), Government of India.

The movement of individuals for all the non-essential activities shall remain prohibited between 10.00 pm to 5.00 am throughout the State. However, essential activities including operation of multiple shifts, movement of persons and goods on National and State Highways and unloading of cargo and travel of persons to their destinations after disembarking from buses, trains and planes will be permitted.

Meanwhile, all the Shopping Malls and shops including shops in main bazars in both urban and rural areas allowed to open bel ween 7.00 am to 8.00 pm. Liquor vends shall, however, remain open from 8 am to 9 pm.
