Jasprit Bumrah joins elite club; wins ICC Mens Player of the Month for June

India fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah and an outstanding Indian cricketer known for his exceptional skills as a fast bowler won the ICC Men's Player of the Month for June, beating skipper Rohit Sharma and Afghanistan's Rahmanullah Gurbaz.
Known for his ability to bowl yorkers and variations in pace and angle, Bumrah also claimed the Men's Player of the Month accolade for June.
ICC stated, “A hero for India in their victorious T20 World Cup campaign has also scooped up ICC Men's Player of the Month honours.”
Bumrah edged out compatriot Rohit Sharma and Afghanistan's Rahmanullah Gurbaz for the award in what was a competitive month of cricket, culminating in India's T20 World Cup win in Barbados.
The 30-year-old showcased exceptional form in the USA and Caribbean, claiming 15 wickets with an impressive average of 8.26 and a remarkable economy rate of 4.17. This achievement saw him join Virat Kohli as one of the few Indian players to earn the Men's T20 World Cup Player of the Tournament accolade.
Following his win of the ICC Men's Player of the Month for June, Bumrah expressed deep gratitude, emphasizing the significance of this recognition to him personally
Delighted to be named the ICC Men's Player of the Month for June, Bumrah said, “I am delighted to be named the ICC Men's Player of the Month for June. It's a special honour for me following a memorable few weeks spent in the USA and West Indies. We have had a lot to celebrate as a team, and I'm delighted to be able to add this personal accolade to the list.”

From there, the right-arm pacer claimed 2/12 (2.4) in India's semi-final win over England, before closing out with a 2/18 (4) performance against South Africa in the final in Barbados.
