PTC Web Desk:  Indian middle-order batter Rinku Singh has left the Team India camp due to a family emergency and returned home after his father’s health suddenly deteriorated.

According to reports, his father was admitted to a local hospital in Greater Noida following a medical emergency and is currently on ventilator support. Doctors are closely monitoring his condition. Upon receiving information about his father’s critical health status, Rinku immediately informed the team management and travelled back from Chennai to be with his family.

Given the circumstances, it is highly unlikely that Rinku Singh will be available for India’s upcoming match against Zimbabwe. The team management is expected to take a final decision on his availability based on the evolving family situation.

At present, the Indian team and support staff are in touch with Rinku’s family, while the player’s immediate priority remains being by his father’s side.

On the field, Rinku, known for his finishing abilities, has not had a strong campaign in the ongoing World Cup. He has scored just 24 runs in five matches so far. His performances include 6 runs off 14 balls against the USA, 1 run off 6 balls against Namibia, an unbeaten 11 off 4 balls against Pakistan, 6 not out off 3 balls against the Netherlands, and a duck against South Africa after facing two deliveries.

While his form has been under scrutiny, cricket takes a backseat at this moment as the focus remains on his father’s health.
