Sukhbir Singh Badal, Harsimrat Kaur Badal congratulate farmers on World Soil Day

World Soil Day: Shiromani Akali Dal President Sukhbir Singh Badal, Union Minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal and senior SAD leader Bikram Singh Majithia congratulated the farming community and urged them to use contemporary methods to stop soil erosion and search for means to improve productivity and soil quality.

Sukhbir Singh Badal said in a tweet,"Soil needs roots to be held together. When it gets those roots, it holds our lives together. When soil disintegrates, so do our lives. On World Soil Day, let us commit to a life in consonance with nature."

Harimrat Kaur Badal said, "The roots of our lives go deep into the soil. Let us stop eroding those roots with poison, deforestation and greed."

Meanwhile, Bikram Singh Majithia said in a tweet: As the world celebrates World Soil Day, it is time for us to think about the problems that the anndaata of this country faces. It is high time to stop soil erosion and improve fertility. Happy World Soil Day to all."

Also, Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar said that "The main purpose of celebrating this day is to make farmers and common people aware of the importance of soil. On this occasion, I want to appeal to all the farming brothers that they must periodically conduct soil tests, get the soil health cards made."
