Vandana Katariya is best player of 5th Asian Champions Trophy

Mercurial forward Vandana Katariya was adjudged the best player of the 5th Asian Champions Trophy Hockey Tournament for women that concluded at Donghae in South Korea on Sunday.

Vanada scored three goals in the tournament and shared the top spot for the top scorer of the tournament with team mate Navneet Kaur and China's Song Xiaoming.

Lalremsiami, who led India 5s in the Youth Olympic Games Qualifier in Thailand last month, was adjudged the best junior player of the tournament.

It was Indian women team's first tournament after swapping of coaches. Sjoerd Mrijns returned to take the charge of the women's team after the Gold Coast Commonwealth Games where India men and women teams finished fourth in their respective sections.
