UnFurling letters of love – Amrita Pritam to come alive on screen via Deepika Padukone
A dirty cup of tea, stubs of cigarettes, anecdotes, memories and love still alive in the alphabets framed so beautifully by the poet.
Who on earth possibly doesn’t know of Amrita Pritam and Sahir Ludhianvi? To this rhetoric, all that I can say is --possible those who are left out will no longer be away from their eternal love, of what is platonic and sufi.
None other than Sanjay Leela Bhansali is ready for his next release that is based on the love story of Amrita Pritam and Sahir Ludhianvi. Anything but conventional, Amrita Pritam and Sahir Ludhianvi will be brought to life on screen, via our all time favorite – Deepika Padukone.
Earlier Priyanka Chopra was considered to play the lead , but now Bhansali's muse Deepika Padukone will play Amrita in the biopic. After her hat-trick with SLB, Deepika has signed her fourth film with the director.
Abhishek Bachchan will bring to life poet-lyricist Sahir Ludhianvi. In fact, Bachchan junior has already begun preparing for the role.
A source was quoted as telling the website, "Abhishek has begun preparing for his Sahir biopic. He will begin rigorous interaction with Sanjay Bhansali after Padmavati releases. But his groundwork on Sahir has begun in right earnest. He is regularly listening to the immortal repertoire of Sahir's lyric from Guru Dutt's Pyasa to Yash Chopra's Trishul. Abhishek's father had the good fortune to interact with Sahir when he worked in Kabhi Kabhie and Trishul. So Bachchan Saab is able to provide plenty of invaluable inputs to Abhishek's preparation."
As much as Deepika is ready to take on the role of writer and poet Amrita, we wish we could book our tickets today itself.
