Amritsar grenade attack : Terror module busted, One arrested
The Punjab Police on Wedneday solved the Ajnala Nirankari Bhavan bomb attack with the busting of a “terror module” and the arrest of one person, Chief Minister Amarinder Singh announced on Wednesday.
Making the announcement at a specially convened press conference here, CM Captain Amarinder Singh said the arrests had exposed a major conspiracy hatched by ISI to fan communal disturbances and disrupt peace in the state.
Flanked by DGP Suresh Arora and DGP (Law and Order) Hardeep Singh Dhilion, the Chief Minister said one of the arrested suspects has been identified as Bikramjit Singh , a resident of Dhariwal in Amritsar.
Meanwhile, the Chief Minister said that "the other accused Avtar Singh will also be arrested soon.
Pakistan-based Khalistan Liberation Force (KLF) leader Harmeet Singh ‘PhD’ alias Happy is the main conspirator behind the attack at Nirankari Bhawan in Amritsar.
He is also the prime suspect in strategising the targeted killings of some socio-religious leaders in the state in 2016-17.
