Amritsar Police recover 180 kg heroin from house: Special task force (STF) of Punjab Police seized 180 kg of heroin in Amritsar, police said on Friday. Meanwhile, Vavinder Mahajan, DSP, STF said, "The operation was underway since many days. Four people including a woman have been arrested". Senior STF official stated that the team received a tip-off and raided a house in Sultanwind area of Amritsar on Thursday. As per report, 180 kg of heroin was recovered during the raid. Also, the person, who had been detained, is said to be an Afghan national. According to the information, the chemicals, with which the heroin was being made or adulterated, have been recovered. The investigation is underway. More details are awaited. Earlier in June 2019, the Customs department had seized 532 kg of heroin from a truck worth Rs 2,700 crore, which was being smuggled into India from Pakistan through the trade route at the Attari border. The heroin and another 52 kg of narcotics was hidden under hundreds of bags of rock salt inside the truck. The truck had arrived at Attari through the integrated check post (ICP). publive-image Likewise, in December last year, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) had termed the recovery of 532-kg heroin. Eleven persons and four companies were enlisted in its chargesheet, while six of the accused were said to be absconding. The chargesheet was filed against Handwara, Kashmir, resident Tariq Ahmad Lone, Jasbir Singh, Nirbhail Singh, Sandeep Kaur, Ajay Gupta, Ranjit Singh, Iqbal Singh, Farookh Lone, Sahil, Sohaib Noor and Amir Noor under Sections 120-B of the Indian Penal Code as well as sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) and Unlawful Activities Prevention Acts (UAPA). https://www.ptcnews.tv/coronavirus-outbreak-coronavirus-china-death-toll-en/ The four firms named include — M/S Kanishk Enterprises Pvt.
