New Delhi, August 20: Union Home Minister Amit Shah congratulated and praised India's Under-20 World Wrestling champion Antim Panghal after she bagged a gold medal in the women's 53 Kg weight category in Bulgaria's Sofia.
"Proud moment. Congratulations to Antim Panghal for creating history and becoming the first Indian girl to win a Gold medal at the U-20 World Championships. India salutes your hard work and commitment. Best wishes for your bright future, keep shining, " Home Minister Amit Shah said on Twitter.
Antim defeated German Wrestler 11-0 in the qualification round. The Japanese were stunned in the quarterfinals when Antim defeated the Japanese grappler by fall. She comfortably overcame a Ukrainian wrestler in the semi-finals, and she defeated a Kazakh wrestler in the final.

The other two wrestlers lost in the final and received silver medals, while the other two wrestlers won bronze medal matches. With this, the Indian Junior Women Wrestling Team finished second with 160 points, Japan first with 230 points, and the United States third with 124 points.
Antim won gold in 53 kg for India, Sonam and Priyanka silver in 62 and 65 kg, respectively, and Sito and Reetika bronze in 57 and 72 kg, respectively.
All five wrestlers lost their first Greco-Roman match. The remaining five weight categories will compete on Saturday.
