ANY KIND OF CONNIVANCE WITH ANTI-PUNJAB AND ANTI-SIKH CONGRESS WAS UNIMAGINABLE-CM BADAL

Dabwali Dhaab (Sri Muktsar Sahib) - Terming Delhi Chief Minister Mr. Arvind Kejriwal’s statement regarding understanding between Shiromani Akali Dal and Congress as ‘bunch of lies’, the Punjab Chief Minister Mr. Parkash Singh Badal today said that any kind of connivance with anti-Punjab and anti-Sikh Congress was unimaginable. Interacting with the media persons on the sidelines of Sangat Darshan program in Lambi assembly segment here today, the Chief Minister said that Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) could never even think of having any sort of adjustment with the party which had attacked Sri Harmandir Sahib, perpetrated the carnage of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and which had done grave injustice to the state by depriving us of our Capital, river waters and even Punjabi speaking areas. Mr. Badal said that SAD has a glorious history of launching struggle for safeguarding interests of Punjab, Punjabi and Punjabiat, whereas Congress has a notorious past of anti-Punjab stance. He said that Mr. Kejriwal was issuing baseless and irrational statements just for vested political interests. The Chief Minister said that Mr. Kejriwal was also suffering from anti-Punjab syndrome and was not having basic knowledge about the state. He said that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) was bereft of any agenda for development of the state and they were trying to mislead the people by hollow slogans. Mr. Badal said that the administration was not run by hollow slogans as work has to be done on ground level to ensure welfare of people. He said that SAD was fully committed for peace, communal harmony and development in state. The Chief Minister further said that AAP was like a ‘house of cards’ that was likely to collapse even before the state assembly polls. He said that the AAP leadership neither had any character nor they were having any ideology and their sole motive was to assume power for plundering the state. Mr. Badal said that the allegations of ‘selling the party’ tickets being leveled by AAP cadres were reflection of moral degradation in politics. Describing state Congress Chief Captain Amarinder Singh as a ‘King of Palaces’, the Chief Minister said that he was least worried about the welfare of people and would deprive the people of the subsidies being given to them by the alliance government. He reminded the people that Maharaja had discontinued the free power given to farmers during his previous regime. Likewise, Mr. Badal said that during Captain’s government no scheme for well being of poor strata of society was started. Asked to comment on resignation of Mrs. Navjot Kaur Sidhu from BJP, the Chief Minister said that any leader who backstabs his/ her mother party looses credibility amongst the people. Mr. Badal said that he had always supported Mrs. Sidhu to ensure development in her constituency. Earlier addressing the gatherings in village Karamgarh, Kabarwala, Pakkitibbi, Gurusar Jodhan, Sham Khera and Dabwaki Dhaab, the Chief Minister said that the state government has taken unprecedented steps for the welfare of all strata of society.   He further said that under various pro-poor and pro-people social security schemes the alliance government has decided to double the pensions given to people. Mr. Badal said that the state government has started first of its kind scheme to provide interest free crop loans worth Rs 50000 to the farmers. He further said that in another historic decision it has been decided that all the farmers would be provided a health insurance cover of Rs.50,000 and an insurance of Rs.5 lac in case of accidental death or incapacitation of head of family. The Chief Minister was accompanied by Chairman Punjab Agro Jathedar Dyal Singh Kolianwali, Director Punjab State Tubewell Corporation Mr. Harmesh Singh Khudian, his Special Principal Secretary Mr. KJS Cheema, Deputy Commissioner Mr. Sumit Jaranghal and Senior Superintendent of Police Mr. Gurpreet Singh.
