Asian Hockey Federation: HI President elected Vice President After elevation of the outgoing President  King Abdullah bin Sultan Ahmad Shah of Malaysia as the Royal Patron, Japan, that dons the mantle of Asian Games champion both in men and women’s sections, has gained control of the Asian Hockey Federation. At the AHF Congress held in Giffu, long standing member of the Federation, Mr Fumio Ogura of Japan, becomes the new President of the AHF.  Election of officer bearers for 2019/2022 was held during the Congress that saw the choice of Mr Yoshida Motohito of Japan as the new Honorary President. Asian Hockey Asian Hockey Federation HI President elected Vice President Mr Tayyab Ikram , Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of AHF and his dynamic team for an excellent Congress done to reflect such elevations in standard of professionalism. The Asian Hockey Confederation (AHF) Congress has come to a very special conclusion. This Congress was extremely special in many ways. Hockey India congratulated its President, Mohammad Mushtaque Ahmad, on his unanimous election as a Vice President of the Asian Hockey Federation (AHF). Mohammad Mushtaque Ahmad, who has been serving as the President of Hockey India since October 1 last year, will serve for a four-year term. Hockey India also congratulated its Vice-President, Ms Asima Ali, on being elected unopposed as one of the executive board members of the AHF. President Asian Hockey Federation HI President elected Vice President The election of both, Mr Mohammad Mushtaque Ahmad and Ms Asima Ali, will now see them as members of the executive board which is the legislative body of the Asian Hockey Federation. The AHF Executive Board manages the affairs of the federation, implements the decisions of the AHF Congress, supervises over the AHF CEO and professional staff, as well as appoints the AHF Committees. Mr Rajinder Singh, Secretary General, Hockey India, congratulated both Mohammad Mushtaque Ahmad and Ms Asima Ali on their election. “It is with immense joy that I wish both of them on being elected as members of the AHF Executive Board through their respective new positions. Both Mr Ahmad and Ms Ali have worked tirelessly in Hockey India's endeavour to promote the sport across the country and transform it into one of the most professionally managed federations in India. They take this experience now to their new positions at the continent level which gives us a sense of immense pride. On behalf of everyone here at Hockey India, I would like to extend my best wishes to them, and hope that they extend their industrious services to the benefit of the Asian Hockey Federation," said Mr. Singh.
