Guwahati (Assam) [India], August 16: In a major update, Assam Cabinet Expansion may soon take place as Opposition MLAs in the state Assembly are “happy and satisfied” with the developmental works by the incumbent BJP led government led by the Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.

On the same, the Assam BJP chief Bhabesh Kalita stated that “some of them may join the party in days to come.”

While addressing the media, BJP chief Kalita said that, "Opposition legislators are happy and satisfied with the developmental activities that are being taken up in the state under the leadership of chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.”

However, Kalita did not disclose that which Opposition legislators and how many of them praised about the party’s developmental work.

Furthermore, Kalita seems to be confident that the party will get more seats in 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

After the 2021 Assembly polls in the state, a few opposition MLAs - reportedly three --joined BJP and later won their respective seats through by-polls.
