The bushfires in Australia have raged across the country’s east coast in the past few days. It has not become a trouble for habitats of many animals. The most affected areas are the habitat of koalas. The bushfires have claimed lives of hundreds of koalas, and the efforts to rescue them are underway.
Meanwhile, a video has surfaced on social media, where a woman risked her own life to rescue an injured koala, which has gone viral. The koala suffered burn injuries. However, it managed to come to a road in Post Macquire. After watching the animal fighting for survival, the woman rushed into blazing bush land and picked it up with both her hands.

She took off her top and doused the koala in water before wrapping it with a towel. Few moments later, she gave koala some water to drink. Afterwards, the koala was rushed to the Port Macquarie Koala Hospital for treatment.
So far, hundreds of koalas have lost their lives in the ongoing bushfires in Australia, and the death toll is expected to rise. The rescue team is trying their best to save koalas every day, but all the affected areas haven’t been inspected yet. As of now, the exact numbers of death is still not clear.
