A 26-year-old autorickshaw driver was beaten to death by a mob on Saturday in west Delhi. The mob allegedly tied the auto driver and two other men to an electric pole and paraded them for stealing car batteries. The mob thrashed these three men on the suspicion of being thieves.
Two men boarded the autorickshaw driven by victim Avinash Kumar on Saturday. They asked the Kumar to wait for them. And during that time, the auto driver went to urinate. When he came back, he saw a crowd of nearly 200-300 people thrashing his passengers. The duo told the crowd that Avinash Kumar was their leader, following which the crowd attacked him.
Later, someone in the crowd called Kumar’s parents from his mobile phone in the middle of the assault. The parents rushed to the spot and begged the crowd to spare their son’s life. But no one heard their cries and requests.
The police arrived at the spot and rushed the three to the hospital. Avinash Kumar was declared brought dead by the hospital, while the other two were fighting for their lives in the hospital. Also Read: 2 Bike-Borne Men Open Fire Outside East Delhi Restaurant
