Jalandhar, September 07: Punjab government employees today burnt the effigy of State finance minister Harpal Cheema over non-payment of salaries since July. The employees raised slogans against the Punjab government and asked them to release their salaries instead of spending ‘extravagantly’ on advertisement. Joint Action Committee, a joint organization of employees, burnt an effigy of Finance Minister Harpal Cheema outside the Jalandhar DC office.
