BADAL HAILS MODI's "FISCAL STRIKES"

Chandigarh November 9 - Punjab Chief Minister S. Parkash Singh Badal today hailed Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi's decision to demonetize Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes as "morally, politically and financially brave and decisive blow against corrupt and dangerous individuals, organizations and mafia who harmed the country and people through corruption and black money". Mr. Badal said that with this "massive blow and sharp and stunning strike" the PM has shown that he possesses exemplary courage to take on the external as well as internal enemies of the country alike". The Chief Minister said that war against corruption and black money had to be fought with the same courage and at the same level as war against external enemy. He said that the PM's move would hit at the fountainheads of the dangerous phenomenon which had taken deep roots in the system. The Chief Minister said that November 8, 2016 would go down in India's history as “a historic and watershed moment when for the first time since 1947, a Prime Minister demonstrated courage and statesmanship of a visionary leadership to lend meaning and substance to the concept of independence for the poor and common Indian on the street.” He has sought to clear the path for economic equality and justice for all Indians. "Freedom has no meaning without economic independence and equality for every Indian. This was the dream of great heroes and martyrs of independence movement. The PM has taken the country and its people closer to the realization of that dream" said Mr. Badal.
