Punjab and Haryana grants bail to Asaram’s son in an attempt to murder case Godman Asaram’s son, Narain Sai, has been granted bail in an attempt to murder case by Punjab and Haryana high court on Thursday. Narian is facing charges for attacking a key witness a sexual assault case involving Sai. Narain Sai, filed a petition, saying that he was falsely connected to the case. Mahendra Chawla was the main eye-witness in the sexual assault case against Narain Sai. On May 13, 2015, the key witness was attacked by two unidentified men. They opened fire on him when he was at his house in Sanauli village. The two bullets lodged in his shoulder. Police reached the spot and was rushed to the hospital. He gave a statement in which he accused Narain of attacking him. He was the main eyewitness in the sexual assault case involving Sai. After his statement, a case was lodged under section 307 (attempt to murder), 342 (wrongful confinement), 195A (threatening any person to give false evidence) and 120B (criminal conspiracy).
