Ban on sale, use of firecrackers in Chandigarh
The Chandigarh Administration has imposed a complete ban on the sale or use of firecrackers of any kind. The decision has been taken following discussions with environment and health experts and other stakeholders. The experts are of the view that toxic air emanating from crackers can have adverse effects on health. Earlier, ahead of Diwali, the Delhi Government imposed a complete ban on the storage, sale and use of all types of firecrackers.
