Bath in Yamuna costs 4 youths their lives

Four persons drowned in the Yamuna river in New Delhi. They were bathing in the river following Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations at Nangloi in Delhi. A group of eight persons wandered into the deep water on Thursday night. Four of them escaped and the remaining four drowned. According to an official release by the police, inquiries revealed that a group of 30 persons performed the Ganesh Puja at their house, after which someone suggested that they bathe in the Yamuna. Members of civil defence and police stopped them at Shani Mandir and Bakhtawarpur but they assured them that they would not venture into the river. However, they did.
