Bathinda: 28-year-old youth commits suicide due to drug addiction Due to drug addiction, another youth takes his life here on Tuesday. The 28 year old youth, identified as Abhimanyu committed suicide by hanging himself from a poll near Bathinda Railway Station. He was a resident of Pratap Nagar, Bathinda, the police said. The youth was a drug addicted, the police said. GRP Punjab Police is investigating the case. To fight against drugs, Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) on Monday said it’s time for “a comprehensive war on drugs by all Punjabis, rising above political affiliations”. SAD president and former deputy chief minister Sukhbir Singh Badal said, “This is no time for playing politics, and the SAD will not fall to the temptation to take advantage of the government’s failure to live up to its promise to tackle the drug menace in four weeks.” -PTC News
