Bhagwant Mann resigns, President of Aam Aadmi Party, Punjab.
In a shocking revelation this morning, Bhagwant Mann has resigned from the post of President of Aam Aadmi Party, Punjab.
The decision came a day after Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal tendered an apology for having levelled "unfounded" allegations related to involvement in drugs trade against Shiromani Akali Dal leader Bikram Singh Majithia.
"Because of my allegations made against you at various political rallies, public meetings, TV programmes, print, electronic and social media, you filed a defamation case against us in the Amritsar court. I, hereby, withdraw all my statements and allegations made against you and apologise for the same," the letter by Kejriwal read.
On Friday morning Bhagwant Mann posted on Facebook,
'I am resigning as a president of AAP Punjab... but my fight against drug mafia and all kind of corruption will continue as an Aam Aadmi of Punjab,' the post said.
Former Punjab minister Majithia claimed he was grateful that truth had won and Kejriwal had realised his mistake.
