BJP MP Shatrughan Sinha meets Rahul Gandhi, will join Cong in April
BJP MP Shatrughan Sinha today met Congress President Rahul Gandhi on Thursday in New Delhi. The actor told the media that he will be joining the Congress in April. He will be joining Congress during Navaratri that begins on April 6.
The decision came after BJP party denied him party ticket from Patna Sahib parliamentary constituency in Bihar. He is currently the sitting MP from the seat. Shatrughan Sinha told the media, “Democracy within the BJP does not exist any longer. Dictatorship prevails instead. That’s why I have decided to join the Congress Party during the auspicious period of Navaratri.”
He further said that he would be contesting from the same seat. He was elected twice in 2009 and 2014, from Patna Sahib Lok Sabha seat.
Bihar will vote in seven phases from April 11 to May 19. Counting of votes will take place on May 23.
