Bharatiya Janata Party’s Ravi Kant Sharma has been elected the new Chandigarh mayor on Friday. As per the report, the newly elected Chandigarh Mayor Ravi Kant Sharma got 17 votes while the Congress candidate Devinder Singh Babla managed to get only five votes. Reportedly, two votes were declared invalid.

After Sharma was declared the Mayor, the Congress party boycotted the Senior Deputy Mayor and Deputy Mayor polls. The party members alleged cameras were used by the BJP during the polls.
