VK Singh will go to Iraq to bring back bodies of Indians killed, says Sushma Swaraj
Body of 39 Indians will be brought by VK Singh from Iraq, Sushma Swaraj.
External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj on Tuesday said that the 39 Indians who were missing in Iraq for years now, have died.
Swaraj said that deep penetration radars have confirmed that all the 39 Indians were dead after all bodies were exhumed. The DNA tests have confirmed the identities of the individuals, she added.
Minister of state for external affairs, General VK Singh, will go to Iraq to bring back mortal remains of the Indians killed in Iraq. The plane carrying mortal remains will first go to Amritsar, then to Patna and then to Kolkata, says the Union minister in the Rajya Sabha.
39 Indians were kidnapped by ISIS in 2014, out of which 31 were from Punjab, 4 from Himachal and the rest from Bengal and Bihar. The bodies will be brought back at Amritsar Airport she said.
