Bollywood actor Rishi Kapoor passes away at 67

Bollywood actor Rishi Kapoor has passed away in HN Reliance hospital at Mumbai on Thursday. Earlier, he was admitted to ICU, his elder brother Randhir Kapoor said. His wife Neetu Kapoor was by his side. Amitabh Bachchan expressed shock over the sad demise of Rishi Kapoor. He took to Twitter and wrote: “He’s GONE .. ! Rishi Kapoor .. gone .. just passed away .. I am destroyed !” Rahul Gandhi wrote: "This is a terrible week for Indian cinema, with the passing of another legend, actor Rishi Kapoor. A wonderful actor, with a huge fan following across generations, he will be greatly missed. My condolences to his family, friends & fans all over the world, at this time of grief." The 67-year-old actor was taken to the H N Reliance hospital by his family on Wednesday morning. He was suffering from cancer and he had some breathing problems, so he has been admitted to the hospital. The actor returned to India last September after undergoing treatment for cancer in the US for almost a year. In February, Rishi Kapoor was hospitalised twice due to his health issues. At the time, Rishi Kapoor had said that he was suffering from an infection. Rishi Kapoor was the second son of late actor Raj Kapoor and the sibling of Randhir, Ritu Nanda, Rima Jain and Rajeev Kapoor. He made his debut in the film industry with Bobby opposite Dimple Kapadia in 1973 and was also seen as a child actor in films such as Shree 420 and Mera Naam Joker. In the later stage, he was seen in films such as Kapoor and Sons, D-Day, Mulk and 102 Not Out. The actor was last seen in Emraan Hashmi’s The Body.
